Join us on Saturday, 28 March, to hear the story of Survivor, a Nguni cow who knew a beautiful vineyard when she saw one and jumped off the truck on the Swartland Farm. Broken-legged, she survived eating the grapes for 3 weeks before she was found.

Join us at BarDouro Wine Bar for a wild and wonderful afternoon with Survivor Wines, a range inspired by one of Africa’s greatest stories of resilience.
The name Survivor pays tribute to the legendary Nguni cattle, one of Southern Africa’s oldest indigenous breeds. When European settlers arrived in the 1800s and introduced foreign cattle, many couldn’t withstand the harsh African climate, disease, and rugged terrain. But the Nguni thrived. Tough, adaptable, and remarkably resilient, they survived where others couldn’t, becoming a powerful symbol of endurance and strength.
